Description
Indian valerian (Valeriana jatamansi Jones) is considered a highly endangered medicinal plant in Northern part of Himalayan region. It is also found in all temperate regions of the world except Australia. It is grown in Himachal Pradesh, Northern part of U.P., Sikkim that has been recently introduced in West Bengal Darjeeling region. It is enlisted in the endangered category by IUCN and as an endangered species in the national medicinal plant board, New Delhi.
